21 DAY MODIFIED FAST JAN. 13-FEB. 3

 

 FOODS TO AVOID

  • NO Meat (you may eat only fish if you need a protein – no shrimp or other meat)

  • NO Bread, dairy, eggs, peanut butter, sugar (may use raw honey and eat whole grain bread or flatbread)

  • NO Wine or any other alcoholic drinks, sodas, coffee (herbal teas, unsweetened soy milk and/or Almond Breeze etc. are allowed)

  • NO Fast Food restaurants or fried foods

  • NO Sweets, candy, snacks

 

 

PERSONAL HABITS TO AVOID

  • LIMIT television time

  • LIMIT phone use

  • NO gossiping

  • You may listen to worship or gospel music, but no secular music

  • NO personal social media (no TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter or any other platform unless it's job required or to attend virtual services/prayers)

 

 

SPIRITUAL HABITS TO KEEP

  • Pray 3 times a day

  • Read John (one chapter a day)

  • Encourage someone each day

  • Share the gospel of Jesus with someone each week (by sharing your testimony)

Welcome aboard as we take our journey on this 21-day Modified Fast!  Don’t feel that you are not important as a participant on this fast, because you are!!! – Yes you are! Pastor DeAnna and I are encouraging you all to come on board with all the zeal that God has placed within you!  This fast is about Reconnecting With God!  This year we want to rid ourselves of any and everything that is keeping us out of line with God’s Word and purpose for our lives!  We are fasting to develop a spirit of commitment and obedience that will ultimately cause us to experience Breakthrough in our finances, health, and relationships. We are also fasting to draw closer to God and be able to recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Week 1 (Mon. 1/13-Sun. 1/19) Knowing Jesus as the Word of Life

  • Key Thought: "Believe in Jesus, the Word of Life"

  • Key Chapter: John 1

  • Key Verse: John 1:14 — "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Week 2 (Mon. 1/20-Sun. 1/26) Living in the Light of the World

  • Key Thought: "Walk in the Light of Christ"

  • Key Chapter: John 8

  • Key Verse: John 8:12 — "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'”

 

Week 3 (Mon. 1/27-Mon. 2/3) Bearing Fruit by Remaining in Jesus

  • Key Thought: "Abide in Christ and Bear Fruit"

  • Key Chapter: John 15

  • Key Verse: John 15:5 — "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
